I was getting on the plane in Seattle.  I was the last person in line (don't ask - Alaska Airlines has a new loading policy).  At least I thought I was last but when I turned around I ran into Steve McConnell.  Steve is giving one of the keynotes at SdExpo this week.

You may know that Steve has published several books. His best selling book, Code Complete   is a must read for any developer.  If you haven't read it yet buy a copy today.  I'll wait.....

Done?  As I was saying Code Complete belongs on every software developers bookshelf.  Perhaps you should hold off for a few weeks before buying the book. Why?  Steve has just finished the second edition of Code Complete and it should be in bookstores in May.  He has updated  the book to keep pace with newer developments in software languages.  Now the book has code samples in newer languages - such as Java and C#.

You can read portions of the book at Steve's website http://www.stevemcconnell.com/cc2/cc.htm

Check it out - then go buy the book.  While your at it buy a copy for some of the developers on your team.
