Looks like my 24 hour alert was correct.  Sometime during the night Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 was uploaded to the MSDN servers.  It's available for you to download -- if you have a MSDN subscription.

Disappointment number one

VS 2005 Professional is not uploaded to the MSDN servers yet.  The standard edition is there (which I'm downloading ).  The team system bits are there (which I already have -- I can say that now that my NDA is lifted).  I plan on spending most of my time during the next several months working with the Pro version, so I anxious to get my hands on a copy.  Come on Microsoft, upload this version soon.

Disappointment number two

I'm still in Toronto, so I can't download the software.  Microsoft usually rolls out popular releases in series.  Different MSDN servers are given the files at later times.  Usually the U.S. servers are first.  This morning I log on the MSDN and I can't find the Beta 2 links.  I'm getting comments on my blog that says its available and I'm seeing that other people are downloading it.  I finally figured out that it's not on the MSDN site that I'm seeing here in Toronto.

Solution:  Terminal server connect to my office PC and download from there.  I won't be able to install on my laptop on the flight home but that's the way it is.

Update:

The download was successful, I'm installing it on my virtual machine  now.
